The Centre for Law & Social Justice at the University of Leeds School of Law and the Vulnerability and Human Condition Initiative at the Emory University School of Law are launching a new series of interdisciplinary workshops aimed at exploring topics related to the Subjects and Objects of Law. The first meeting, on May 31, 2017 in the Moot Court Room of the Liberty Building, University of Leeds, will focus on the legal construction of animals.

The Network for International Law Students (NILS) is an international, independent, non-political, non-profit-making organisation, run by and for law students. This March, they co-organise a study tour to London with the Centre for Advanced Research in Dispute Settlement (CARDS): the Tour de Arbitration, scheduled from March 01 - 05, 2017. The Tour will give participants an opportunity to learn the practical aspects of Arbitration as well as discovering the grand old city of London.

The application process is open for the Transparency International School on Integrity (TISI) to be held in Vilnius from July 10-16, 2017, at the Mykolas Romeris University student campus. The School on Integrity focuses on anti-corruption and accountability, giving the opportunity to future leaders to implement their ideas in practice. It aims to create an ‘integrity-building’, ‘peer-to-peer learning’ environment through lectures, seminars, trainings and field trips.

Leiden University invites submissions to the Interdisciplinary Conference ’EU Criminal Justice Policy and Practice – Reflections and Prospects’, which will be held on June 26-27, 2017. The conference aims to encourage discussions on the European Union’s initiatives in the field of EU criminal law and future challenges. The conference will bring together lawyers, criminologists, political scientists, and philosophers for a multidisciplinary reflection on the development of the European Union’s criminal policy.

The 3rd edition of the mock trial “Arbitrators’ Quest” organised by Konrad & Partners will take place in Vienna on May 12, 2017, with the hearing being held at the premises of Konrad & Partners’s Vienna office. The workshop aims to provide participants with hands-on experience on matters typically arising in international arbitration disputes. Supervision and close cooperation will be offered by experienced practitioners and renowned scholars in the field. The winner will be offered a paid two-month summer internship at Konrad & Partner’s Vienna office, accommodation included.

The World Bank Group offers a Paid Internship programme for highly motivated and successful individuals for the summer of 2017. The Internship provides an opportunity for individuals to improve their skills working for the World Bank in a diverse environment. Most positions are located in Washington, D.C. and some in country offices. The minimum duration of the internship is four weeks.

Polish Yearbook of International Law (PYIL), a scientific journal published since 1966, is currently seeking articles for its next volume (XXXVI), which will be published in June 2017. The major focus of the Yearbook is on public and private international law as well as European law. Each volume of the PYIL also includes legal bibliography of Polish authors publishing in the above areas.
