The Organising Committee welcomes submissions for papers for the Colloquium on ‘International Investment Law & the Law of Armed Conflict’ organised in the context of the Investment Law Initiative. The Colloquium will be taking place at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece on October 5-6, 2017.

The colloquium examines the various systemic concerns regarding international investment protection and arbitration which were brought to international attention due to recent events in Syria, Yemen, Libya and Crimea. The aim of abstracts is to chart the terrain of the multifaceted and complex relationship between international investment law and the law of armed conflict.

How?

Senior and junior academics and practitioners (including PhD candidates and post-doctoral researchers) are invited to send an anonymous abstract (800 words max.) and a separate author’s CV (1 page) to the following e-mail addresses: This email address is being protected from spambots. Selected final papers will be published by Springer, subject to peer review, in the Special Issue of the European Yearbook of International Economic Law (EYIEL) on ‘International Investment Law & the Law of Armed Conflict’.

The deadline for abstract submission is March 15, 2017.

Participants are kindly requested to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
