The Romanian UN Youth Delegates, Denisa and Gabriel, are looking for successors for the 2017/2018 mandate! If you are between 18 and 25 years old and you are passionate about diplomacy and youth issues, the Ministry for Youth and Sports of Romania is expecting you application!
The United Nations Youth Delegate Program had its debut in Romania in 2006, and it already represents a tradition in the country. The program is currently active under the guidance of the Ministry for Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Romania is one of the 36 United Nations state members, from a total of 193 countries, which support this initiative. The purpose of the program is to train promising young adults between the ages of 18 - 25 to be active in the world’s grandest decisional forum, and to actively involve them in youth national activities.
The Youth Delegates’ main responsibilities include: Representing Romanian youth’s interests during the works of major United Nations commissions, including the General Assembly and the Commission for Social Development; Carrying out consultations, meeting and implementing projects with Romanian youth, thus promoting the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and other priority youth issues. Applicants must follow the instructions online, fill in the application, send a CV in a Europass template, and send an essay in English (1000 words max.) on the subject: What can be the concrete contribution of young Romanian people to achieving three of the Agenda 2030 objectives? A recent recommendation letter from a university professor is also required.
