International Private Law LL.M - People's Friendship University of Russia (PFUR)
The International Private Law LL.M is a two-years, full time programme for students with an interest in the field of business law and arbitration, designed to provide them with the necessary knowledge to face critical business law questions. This LL.M also explores conflicts of domestic and foreign law in international trade, insurance, protection of intellectual property rights, corporate and other private relations.
People's Friendship University of Russia (PFUR) is an international university with students from over 140 countries. It was founded in 1960 to help students from developing nations, mainly from Asia, Africa and South America. Today it is ranked by the Russian Ministry of Education as the country's third best university, enabling its alumni to build international careers in various spheres of industry, business, research and public administration.

Scholarships: Foreign students can enrol on the budget of the Russian Federation. Information on enrolment at the expense of federal budget allocations for the academic year 2016-2017 will be uploaded on the PFUR website, when available.
Accommodation: PFUR offers accommodation to over 7000 students in 13 blocks of student hostels within its campus, situated in the South-West of Moscow. More information is available to the applicants after their acceptance in PFUR.
Application Process
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in Legal Sciences, Humanities or Social Sciences. PFUR accepts students who can demonstrate their proficiency in English (at least IELTS 5 or TOEFL iBT 63).
• Deadline: All application materials must be submitted before August 15 via postal mail to the international office.
• Application Fee: There is no application fee.

a) Statement of Results (transcript), legalised by the candidate's national Ministry of Education and by the Consular section of the Russian Embassy in his/her country.

Programme Structure (120 ECTS)
• Courses (60 ECTS)
- Required courses (15 credits): Philosophy of Law, Foreign Language, History of Political and Legal Studies, History and Methodology of Law, Comparative Law Research.
- Professional required courses (31 credits): Introduction to International Private Law: Theoretical and Historical Aspect, Current Issues of International Private Law, Cross-border Transactions: Legal and Practical Aspects, Law of International Trade, Protection of Intellectual Property Rights, Law of Torts.
- Professional elective courses (14 credits): International Commercial Arbitration and other ADR, CISG and International Commercial Arbitration (Model MOOT), Contracts Law (RF), Insurance Law, Inheritance law, Legal Advising of Human Resources Management.
• Master's Thesis Preparation - Research Work (48 credits): Students are required to complete a LL.M. Writing Project and submit a thesis.
• Academic practice and Legal Consulting Internship (Optional: 10 credits): Students have the option of applying for two-month, unpaid internships in law firms and legal departments of corporations.
Career Prospects: This LL.M is designed to give lawyers the practical and theoretical skills necessary to deal with business problems and to participate in dispute resolution, including arbitration and litigation, whether in an international or national context.
