LLM in International and Commercial Law

Groningen University, the Netherlands

Ramin comes originally from Iran and decided to pursue his education in the Netherlands to learn more about European law and gain a completely new perspective. He now holds an LLB in International and European law at Groningen University and currently in the middle of pursuing an LLM in International Commercial Law at the same university. Ramin is particularly interested in the areas of Intellectual Property Law, Contract law and Commercial Arbitration and their interaction with modern technology. He believes that the internet has fundamentally challenged traditional viewpoints regarding these fields and that adaptability of the law is crucial in keeping up with the ever-changing nature of today’s technological world. In this regard, he is interested in research projects aimed at tackling these challenges either directly or indirectly by combining different academic fields which is also one of the reasons he also takes part in the multidisciplinary Honours program at Groningen University. He ultimately intends to continue an academic career as well as practical work as a legal consultant.

Working with the team at specifically peaked his interest as he has long been searching for an opportunity to put his acquired academic knowledge to practice, improve his legal writing, and finally help ease the way for other students to have the same chances as he did and acquire the education they desire in their preferred field of law.
