The International Language and Law Association (ILLA) organises a conference on "Language and Law in a World of Media, Globalisation and Social Conflicts" on September 7-9, 2017 at the University of Freiburg, Germany and welcomes abstracts for its Junior Research Panel. The purpose of the panel is to provide a platform for junior researchers to be informed of the development in the working field, to exchange project ideas and methodologies, and to work towards the establishment of a junior researcher network within ILLA.
The panel is going to be held in English and will start with short presentations, i.e. “lightning talks” under 5 minutes that cover the research questions, the approach of the project, the relevance of the study, and the expected findings. Participants are encouraged to prepare an electronic mini-poster (DIN-A2) based on their short presentations to be published at ILLA online as well as for potential further inquiries. By the end of the panel, the participants will be asked to anonymously elect a best short presentation. The winner will be awarded with a small prize sponsored by the conference cooperation partners.

The organisers welcome junior scholars, including doctoral students and post-doctoral researchers, in the field of legal linguistics or any language and law-related subjects.

The deadline for abstract submission is on February 28, 2017. The notification of acceptance will be sent by March 15, 2017.The junior panel will be held on September 8, 2017 from 17:00 to 19:00.
Accepted contributors will be financially supported by the exemption of conference fees
