Definition
Anti-dumping measures [Ro.: Măsuri antidumping, Fr.: Mesures antidumping, De.:Antidumpingmaßnahmen, Gr.: μέτρα anti-dumping, Alb.: masat anti-dumping] (See also: international trade, predatory pricing, price discrimination, unfair competition, countervailing duty, safeguard) = measures through which a state defends its national trade against dumping prices, that is against prices below the cost of production, set with the purpose of removing competition. Dumping prices are an example of unfair competition in the majority of states. Within the EU, anti-dumping measures are taken by the European Commission, including ad valorem duty, other specific duties or price undertakings.
